the stewards at the front of the ponty end are ruining the match day experience, picking on young kids and talking and portraying a very aggressive nature in doing their job, telling kids they cant eat sweets because they weren't official oakwell products, also threatening to confiscate phones, saying a young lad could be arrested for filming his heroes, my lad says he doesn't want to go anymore ,because of it, its 2016, kids film and take pictures ,to show friends and a memento of day, the stewards need to deal with proper trouble causers and leave little kids alone
They seem to have gone abit ott with the stewarding scince the broken seats saw a lad before game been removed by stewards it's at least one every over Saturday now. They didn't check my ticket yesterday as they have done in previous weeks but we're just checking young lads. Something was going off yesterday in top corner again with stewards up their as folk infront of me were turning round to see but I didn't bother just kept watching game
First of all, there are some right useless berks on dodgy Doyle's payroll. Secondly, it's not their job to impose any regulations such as you mentioned. Then, it is not a breach of said regulations to bring you own snacks or refreshments into Oakwell, neither is it a breach to film or photograph any action on non-professional equipment. In fact, as YT might confirm, the fan cam is becoming more involved in BFC media features... Something to raise at the next fan meeting. I sat in Ponty yesterday for a change, having bumped into a pal and his young kids outside the ground. I gave the little lass my lion bar at half time, which she was munching with her pals down the front. She also told her dad, she had spotted the drug dealers in the Ladies lavs. If a 8 year old is wise to this, where are Doyle's bunch of merry men? Oh yes, you said - picking on little kids for doing nowt wrong...
Maybe wait until somebody does something wrong instead of hounding young kids until they get pissed off and kick off. Police officers don't follow young kids around town searching them every week trying to make arrests.... If I was a 17 year old reds fan who had just come to watch a game of football with me mates on a Saturday and every week I'm getting pesterd by a bloke who has been bullied at school trying to get his revenge I wouldn't be too happy. The lads who were letting flares off and causing bother aren't there anymore but it seems like they have to pick on someone so it's anyone u20 now.
From what you've put I don't think they are doing anything wrong. The club with the FL have things in place. You have to get permission to film at any professional football club from what I understand. This will only get worse for people because of people periscopeing games. You can't look around at some games away without some person recording the game at away matches. It's ridiculous. Now I know it sounds not nice but they can also say that you can't eat food from outside the ground in Oakwell. That's fair enough. People often try and compare football to other things like Cinema and theatres. Well at those too you can be reject from the premisses and even may face a ban. I was stood near a steward at ER in the last away games and the younger section of our fans are just plain crazy when speaking to stewards and people that work around the ground. A 12 year old talking to a steward like hes **** on the bottom of his shoe. Not a please or thankyou in sight. What are people teaching children these days
Not true and as usual, i wonder whose side you are on? Wembley has a recording/transmitting device ban, which if you took seriously means 80,000 fans with mobile phones are committing an offence. Man U have a device size limitation, which is reasonable as it restricts unauthorised professional equipment. Other than that, then it's at the discretion of the venue and there are no such rules at Oakwell. There are at Bristol, but they're w*nkers, we all know that..
People at Barnsley games (and obviously other games) have started to live stream the games on Facebook and periscope. It's against the rules and harms the club. It takes money from the club we support because I know some (and it's a small amount granted) people have said they won't bother going to a game, they'll just watch it live on there instead. It takes more money from the club because some people watch that instead of paying for Barnsley player. Nothing wrong with taking one or two photos for private use and I'm sure the club have no problem with that at all but live streaming the match? Come on. Take yesterday for example. At the front of the ponty a couple of hours idiots (who by the way regularly promote violence, disorder and hooliganism) were on their phones singing 'we're going live on Facebook, we don't give a ****' whilst live streaming the game. I wonder whether this was the same 'young lad filming his heroes' who the stewards threatened if he didn't stop. Act like dicks, get treated like dicks By the way from our terms and conditions/ground regulations 11. No person may bring into the stadium or use within the stadium any equipment which is capable of recording or transmitting (by digital or other means). 12. Mobile telephones are permitted within the stadium provided that they are used for personal and private calls only and their use does not cause nuisance or annoyance to others.
Was that what was going on in the Ponty towards the west stand? A bloke near me was shouting "Leave them alone".
Responding to original post and Hemsie's misinformation about blanket regulations... We all see nob-head behaviour every match every match. But when 8 year olds are spotting drug dealers before stewards do, someone is not doing their job...
Of course they're not doing their jobs if kids are spotting drugs before them however you can't have it both ways. Either they're too lenient and need to start being proactive in dealing with problems or they're too hard and need to start turning a blind eye. It seems people slate them for letting the dicks do what they want but now they are enforcing the ground regulations they are getting slated and told that the dicks are only filming their heroes, that when some went on the pitch they were doing it in the heat of the moment, that they shouldn't be asking to see tickets etc. We can blame the stewards all we want but the real reason they are taking these measures is that a section of ****ers have been causing trouble and deliberately breaking the rules and now they are clamping down
The Football League state that supporters cannot film anything during the 90 minutes of play. But we all know this kind of thing goes on. I know of a fair few who sit filming the entire game on their mobile, then instantly upload the goals on twitter/facebook etc. It's actually illegal and you could be ejected for doing it. But as I say, this isn't a new rule or anything. It's an FL rule. Like not drinking alcohol in your seat etc. But perhaps the law is now being enforced more? I dunno. I'm far too busy filming official stuff to know what's going on. We endeavour to give supporters a bit of a glimpse behind the scenes and we do speak to supporters on film before games. We have the fan cams, goal cams etc. I'm sat here on my day off uploading videos. <blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">EAST STAND CAM: Here's how you reacted to <a href="https://twitter.com/Winnall19">@Winnall19</a>'s goal yesterday afternoon! <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/COYR?src=hash">#COYR</a> <a href="https://t.co/LFVKwQpsZR">pic.twitter.com/LFVKwQpsZR</a></p>— Barnsley FC (@bfc_official) <a href="https://twitter.com/bfc_official/status/787629965290471424">October 16, 2016</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
A few weeks ago they were picking on 60 year old blokes asking for there tickets every time they went down gangway old blokes who have been there long before them. The seats smashers and the ones letting flares off are gone but they decide now to harass the under 20s who have come to watch a game of football
Live streaming the match illegally to Facebook and saying g they don't give a ****? The poor little lambs
Am same mate trying to get scores on sky sports app is a massive struggle so streaming 90mins of football.... I doubt it, but hey let's not get in way of a good story ban the little ****!
It happens all the time. I can't get internet in oakwell either but plenty of people can and a few people DO live stream the game. Screenshots from the live streams of different games
One had apparently headbutted the other but the stewards wanted to take out the one who had been headbutted too which is why people were saying leave him alone.
