A difficult few days ahead, all our loan places are full yet we need players. The right 2/3 players would give us a serious chance of the play offs but are we prepared to buy in the January window and pay what it will cost?
Still get we need that fits into out policy. These next few months need a big squad as there's plenty of Saturday - Tuesday - Saturday games.
Stick to the plan. Mowatt could hit the ground running - he's a young lad and has been in and around leeds first team so shouldn't take long to get upto speed. We are also in for one more striker. If 'twist' means diverting from the plan, then definitely stick to the plan because it is working, subject to some tweaks.
Stick to the plan which means we should have isolated our targets already but accelerate obtaining them which might cost a little extra but still fit in with the strategy.
Stick to the policy don't panic buy. Try get marley and josh to sign up. It's only our 1st season back were doing really well if you would have offered me 7th in january at beginning of season I'd of snatched your hands off.
If the players that Hecky wants are available at the right price then I'm sure the club will make funds available.
That's pretty much it. No panic buys are needed just to fill a gap. That way lies bigger squads that are unweildy and don't create the right environment.
We've already accelerated the transfer of Mowatt as we wanted him in the summer - instead we have paid for him to get him now.
Continue to work to the philosophy, and develop what we've got. I would like us to recruit another full back; this might be problematic with us already having maximized our number of loans. Saidy Janko could, when fit, be played there as he's regarded as an attacking full back. A striker with different attributes would be welcomed but we won't get drawn into any bidding wars - mainly Bogle.
Twist - without a doubt. Squad has been too small all season. It will be a travesty if we fall away in March or April because of a couple of injuries.
We need body's in. For cover more than anything, but it would be nice to have different options also. Twist definitely. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Stick to the plan. We are where we are because of the plan. To lose the comraderie in the dressing room by too many players for same position would be stupid imo. It's baffling how some want to abandon what we've created to go back to the madness that almost killed club.
Madness, paying existing players what they are worth and signing 2/3 more players for the smallest squad in this league is abandoning the plan?
How do you define what the existing players are worth though? In reality most of them could get far more elsewhere than we're paying them. If that's their worth then we simply can't afford to pay it. If we did the cash we've brought in would be gone inside two years. We've done enough to be able to start shopping in Tesco and Sainsburys rather than Lidl which will hopefully allow us to develop players to championship standards quicker. But we can't afford to pay them what the bulk of teams in this division are offering and neither should we try.
I think Hecky summed it up talking about the Marley episode. Something like.. It's not about offers turning the players heads it's about offers turning the owners head when things happen.
