"....we’ve got to get on with business and I still want to sign a central midfielder, a winger and a goalkeeper. Hopefully we can get a keeper in the building before we go to Marbella for pre-season.”

A centre back seemed to be a priority earlier in the summer, but there hasnt been a mention of one since our Greer bids were knocked back.

We are in trouble if we don't get some new defenders. Our current lot aren't good enough.

We don't need new defenders. Now that Machiavelli has gone all the other defenders are brilliant.

    Can't believe you missed that.

    Keith Hill gave various reasons

As to why we wouldn't sign Etuhu or Mellis. He then went out & got them. It wouldn't surprise me in the slightest to see Gordon Greer leading Barnsley out as our new captain at the beginning of the season.

    I now accept the rule

That if Barnsley sign a player then he must be **** and the rule is absolute. No debate allowed.:D:D

Said that he wants someone like Greer and if they become available he'll sign 'em.

Maybe Hill is 'doing a Mellis' on Greer, as he said he was not interested in Mellis and that the Etuhu deal was going nowhere. Is it a smokescreen? Might still see Greer in, but no winger. If we are after a back-up goalie, Tommy Lee has long been my preferred choice. Is he out of contract at Chesterfield?

Tommy Lee definately fits the DNA

he played for Rochdale! Joking aside, I know a few Chessie fans and last season he came back from injury and almost saved them, he's very highly regarded.

I think you are being unfair calling Scott Wiseman a defender.

Just 74 goals conceded between them last season but not to worry.
