All them that said they wouldnt renew, still stand by that or changed their minds? And reasons why...
Why do we have to have this "points scoring"? Speed are all Barnsley fans, and if we choose to renew or not is up to each fan. Ffs lets get on the same page, and support the team!
Abso bloody lootly. Now is the time to get yer mates down, put more on the gate, make more noise and get behind this team of hungry footballers who are clearly focussed on what our new and innovative manager wants to achieve. Simples.
To be honest, Ben has a point. I don't agree with slagging people off who thought Wilson should have stayed (I thought his time was just about up personally and I still love the bloke for what he did for us 1st time around) but when people throw the dummy out before giving the new bloke a chance and post negative stuff etc then they should accept some criticism back for it.
Suits me, but a month and afe sin, anybody who questioned 'Danny' was getting slated. Difference a few weeks makes ey?
I don't recall many people saying they weren't renewing because danny was sacked. A couple may have had an emotional reaction. That happens. But do remember a lot saying they would never go if we were to appoint di canio. Luckily we didn't! And johnson has given the team a lift. We should all be happy with how things are going, hope it continues, celebrate together if does but also support the team if it doesn't.
I paid for my season ticket two days after Johnson got the job with my winnings from him getting the job, would have had to think really hard about it had we still had negative Danny in charge but would have probably still got one when push came to shove because I'm a barnsley fan being daft is part and parcel of it
I would av renewed even with Wilson in charge even tho i didnt want him charge and never did, thats why i wanted fans views who suddenly said they wasn't.
If we continue to follow the plan then yes if we sign journeyman 32 year olds then no. This is nothing to do with individual results.
Plan? Which plan? You'll only watch your team if a certain plan is followed? And if it isn't you won't renew? We can be winning and / or great to watch. But the plan is the thing. Must be a mightily cunning one for you to follow it more than you do your team.
I'm talking about the plan outlined by our owner keep up sad sack. You probably have seen 1 match all season. Let's have a chat at the Orient game. Should you bother to attend that is.
I can remember 1 or 2 journeymen who made history at our club. I think if they're mixed in with the young uns it can work well (not always like but sometimes)
As opposed to.. Brek, Frimpong, Lawrence? And thats just a few, i take it you rnewed in the summer, i know most may have been loanees but i think the 'journeyman 32 year old' i think your referring to also is a loanee.
The good players we have Winnall, Hourihane, Scowen are young players we have invested in. The only way we can have Success is to follow this path. Recruiting journeyman we tried in the championship. I'm hoping we have learned our lessons. If not then it's not for me. The alternative is up to you.
Season ticket holder mate. no need for abuse. The plan I personally like, which seems to be different to yours, is to go to the Well and watch attractive football. Not too complicated to me that one.
Think he's referring to the last seven years, of journeymen who just want a wage, and not renewing if we go down that road again instead of continuing as we started this season
Interesting point of debate, feller. I was having doubts about renewal while Danny was here - not because of Danny but because of the seeming lack of progress we were making as a team and a club. The place we find ourselves in now after five games won with clean sheets and a more impressive approach to games, we owe in part to Danny. He had the thankless job of clearing up the mess left by Hill and Flitcroft. He identified/approved/signed the majority of the team we have now. But he couldn't at this stage in his career either organise them or motivate them. Flitcroft had some good ideas about measurement and fitness, but both he and Hill assembled a very motley crew of has-been's or never-were's. On the evidence so far, Lee J has an eye for a player, tactical awareness and motivational skills (aided and abetted heavily, it seems to me, by Tommy Wright). Jabo Ibhere may be a journeyman, but on today's evidence he is a journeyman that can bring something to the party (c.f LL), and also take some of the pressure off young George, on whom we might otherwise become too reliant. So lots to be positive about after today and the last five games. And if that continues, then count me in.
