I was talking with one of their fans last night, and he says the nerves are kicking in now at the thought of possible promotion (and the prospect of them blowing it altogether).
We know how that feels of course at this stage of the season lol, but surely they are going up!.
We talked about Barnsley as well and apparently he's been to some Friday night games at Oakwell, and he says he hopes we can renew our rivalries again in the League next season. ;)
And it ought to be promotion for both Wrexham and Mansfield as well. So if we don't go up this time, that will be some rare away visits for us next season.

I remember a vital win for us there late on in season '02, and I don't think we've played since.

My home town for 20 years, best mate is a lifelong fan. He's panicking that they'll blow it. No chance.

Born there, my second team, but no split loyalties for me, hope they go up and hope we miss playing them again when we go up too.

That was at home mate, we lost 1-0. We played them in April '03 and beat them 1-0 at their place

Aren't they (Stockport) the only team to come back from 3 goals down for a draw, at Oakwell, on two separate occasions!!.
As for the other possible teams, I see Crewe and Milton Keynes have a chance.

Yeah that's the match I mean, season '02 (I call it by the year it started lol). And we are now two-thirds into season '23.
Was it Brian O'Callaghan who scored it with a scrambled header ?.

You do realise the posters on here aren't the actual Barnsley squad, don't you?

Was at that, on the old uncovered kop. I think we had 2 sides of the ground from memory. Used to have a few mates who followed them, so was always a good day out.

Would be nice if Wrexham bottled the top 3 and then lost in the play offs.

So Mansfield go top, and I didn't realise Nigel Clough is their boss these days. Let's hope he and they all enjoyed us taking a big stick to the mighty Direby today. :D
