That screen for a non-league side makes a mockery of our laptop-sized scoreboard with 12 bulbs, 4 of them blown.
How vv&nk must we be, to have lost to Bolton Squanderers? It's only two-and-a-bit years since they almost died (I wish they had), and they've just been turned over by a Conference team. The alarm bells should've started ringing when they beat us.
They did for some, others just stuck their heads further into the sand and said things like it's only the League cup etc etc.
I made a rare away day trip that evening, excited to see what our new players could do etc etc. I was disappointed on all fronts and disgusted with the way we capitulated at the end. Those were some of the worst penalties I’ve ever seen, but it should never have gone that far. A big away following deserved so much more than what they provided. I didn’t learn my lesson though. I went to Blackpool as well!!
Boltons pens weren't great either walton should have saved at least 2 of them. But alarm bells did start ringing for me at that game not the pens just everything in the other 90 minutes was scary.
Yes, I meant to say both teams took poor penalties, that is why it compounded the disgust as I left the ground. We'd previously been quite good at penalty shoot outs after all. And yes, the alarm bells started clanging for me as well.
