Huddersfield scored with what is probably their only shot of the game. Is that it for Jones tonight? Positive though is what I’ve seen of these two tonight they both will be relegated. Both have the individual quality but as a team they look horrendous.
Huddersfield fans I know said the same about us after Sunday's match against Brentford and that based on that showing we're a dead cert for relegation.
The manager has had shocking luck with his keepers. Butland letting in howlers and now Federici failing to stop the only thing he's had to do all night.
And they wouldn’t be wrong on sundays showing. But after tonight i wouldn’t let them tell you they’re any better.
This win could be huge for them and its come just at the right time. Will be interesting to see if they can put some results together now or if this is just a one off. We desperately need the three points tomorrow evening.
I’m nervous already. Tomorrow should be a cracker, both teams really do need the 3 points. All we can do is turn up and get behind the lads from the off. I’ve got a good feeling about tomorrow.
Cannot see us being any lower than third These two teams were void of any ideas and their quality was poor. We need a win tomorrow
Jones has confirmed that the Board still have confidence in him and he will be in charge for Stoke City's game against League leaders Swansea this weekend. He's a very lucky man.!
International break coming up after tomorrow's game. Simply put, if he loses against Swansea he's gone straight after the game with a new appointment shortly thereafter. (This is from a Stoke City supporting mate of mine). David Moyes in the frame and Pulls also been talked about a return too. Would give the new manager near on 2 weeks to work with the squad before the next game.
Have to also say I feel a bit sorry for Jones. He's trying to completely overall Stoke in terms of personell, style of play etc and it's just not working. I've always associated Stoke sides as well organised and very direct so I guess this is new territory for them! He had Luton playing some fantastic free flowing attacking football and could have stayed there! Their fans are still very bitter about his departure and would love to see him sacked.
Exactly what I've been hearing from my contact in Stoke SR. Don't think they will go for Pulis though. He alienated a lot of fans with his style of management last time round, so Moyes could emerge as favourite if Jones does indeed get the chop. Another manager feeling the heat right now has to be Boro's Jonathan Woodgate. They lost 2-1 at Birmingham tonight and are now in 20th place having only won two games and have ten points from their eleven games. Steve Gibson is very ambitious and if the fans continue complaining, he may well have to take drastic action.
