It was a good feature asking a fan from each premiership club to answer the following so......... Good Buy: We need a striker, goal scoring midfielder and a centre half. Goodbye: Hopefully for Kayode Odejayi. Apart from him i'm quite happy with the squad we now have after the summer releases. Top Man: Bobby Hassell. Verdict: Three or four quality players from a team that can achieve mid table. Value For Money: I'd say it's pretty good value for a season ticket when you look at the level we play at and the teams we get to see ourselves against.
Good Buy: We need a left back, centre back, left winger, attacking midfielder, and a striker Goodbye: Oddjob would be a nice start Top Man: Bobby Hassell. Verdict: Davey has spent millions depleting our squad so drastically that while we have good players in a few positions there is absolutely no cover for if these players get injured and in other positions he has completly ignored the need for even one player. If the game was played only in the right side of the field with no injuries and us not needing to score we'd do well, otherwise it's another relegation battle without serious strengthening. Value For Money: The tickets are competitively priced however what is served up on the pitch by our 'manager' is definetly not value for money.
Am I wrong then? Because I think that its a fair assessment that we need a centre back due to the fact we only have two and they are likely to get injured or suspended at some point. I think its a fair assessment that our only player capable of playing at left back adequately will get injured or suspended and I think its a fair assessment that we have no natural left winger (of a standard good enough for this league) and that our strikers havent really been doing the job. I also think its a fair assessment that we are short of an attacking central midfielder. Which bit do you disagree with?
Well he has hasnt he? He's spent millions and the squad is weaker now than when he took over. The first 11 might be better, and I say might, but we have no competition for places and no backups at all. ie he's depleted the squad.
I think what he's trying to say is.... We haven't got as many players, so it's weaker. Otherwise I've got no idea which team he's been watching for the past 3 seasons, but it hasn't been Barnsley.
I think thatin a way is right, but the first 11 should be better than the previuos 11 but there is hardly any actual increase in performance over the season and the fighting for places we were assured we had at the start of last season was shown to be ******.
I ask again, are you on crack? Steele/Muller or Colgan/Flinders? Hassell/Heckingbottom/Kay/Reid/Austin/Tonge or Souza/Moore/Kozluk/Foster/Hassell/El watsizname/Van Homo Howard/McScumgit/Suker/Devaney/Togwell/McCann or Colace/JCR/Anderson/Devaney/Leon/Hammill/Butterfield Hayes/Richards/Wright/Nardiello or Macken/Hume/Oddjob/Boggy
RE: I ask again, are you on crack?
He must be on some thing or he's a complete idiot.
Can we have a poll?

Souza, Van Homoet? The players announced as left/leaving us? And El Haimour is a left winger, he's awful at full back. Hammill plays for liverpool not us. I was referring to the squad that davey has got for us for next season, since that seemed to be what dreamboys thread was about. The squad we have so far for next season is very depleted, a couple of right backs and 2 centre backs, no left winger, a couple of central midfielders and two right wingers. then the usual **** up front
Do you not think he's going to strengthen? How can you compare the squad after he's released players?! And of course the loan players going back. Of course it'll be depleted.
In my eyes there's very little comparison. 90% of the squad we had in 08/09 is better than what you were comparing it to. Problem is, they've vastly underperformed, and I'm sure everyone realises this
Plus Hammill has made it clear he's keen to return should he not make it at Liverpool...he'd be one of the best signings (and indeed was, even as a loanee) that we'd made in years!
