    RE: And the beans

I've just had this vision in my head of lots of pensioners and chavs sitting with their Netto laptops trying to figure out how to hook up to the internet, whilst eating 7p baked beans from the can......

    You can't say CHAV!!!

Not politically correct anymore you white middle class person you..

Tom Hampson, The Fabian Society's editorial director, said: "You cannot consider yourself of the Left and use the word.

"It is sneering and patronising and, perhaps most dangerous, it is distancing, turning the chav into the kind of feral beast that exists only in tabloid headlines.

"This is middle-class hatred of the white working class - pure and simple."

Mr Hampson, writing in the quarterly Fabian Review, argues that the word chav is 'way above' the threshold of acceptability.

"It is deeply offensive to a largely voiceless group and - especially when used in normal middle class conversation or on national TV - it betrays a deep and revealing level of class hatred," he said.

Was a sad day when the Kwik Save closed.

I walked past at 8:30 and there was no queue???

Think they did an offer when everything was half price or whatever for the first 100 customers.

Heard its only going to be there for a year though until the one in Lundwood is rebuilt. So my old patch is safe.

Hmmm yes I can quite see why he would say that, does he 1/ use a bus to get to work? 2/ work for a living in a low paid job? 3/have to interact with and live in an area though pleasant have them as neighbours? no to all three thought so.
