He's had a few dodgy games recently..but He's still young, still learning his trade..He'll learn from it..not sure if Martinez is the manager for him tho.

Happens to the best of em. He's still young, still going to make mistakes/learn. Definitely needs to keep it simple sometimes. Foot through it etc.

Probably due one. Still not had nearly as many as Cahill, Jones & Smalling over the past couple of seasons.

He's good and promising but as overated as most of Everton are. Martinez must be closer to the sack than people assume. So much of that team is talked up into world beaters and yet they are in a poor league position....Again.

He's not had a great season really. Can't see him starting for England in the euros.

    To be fair I agree

Not a great season but like people have mentioned he's young and hopefully will hopefully get better

Doesn't help that the rest of Everton defence is weak as piss

People saying he hasn't had a great season. People saying Smalling has had a great season. Make of that what you will.

Sooner he gets out of Everton the better. Without McCarthy and a fully fit first team they are pretty average.

At fault for first goal, but also completed a couple defence splitting passes that wasn't 't capitalised on . Oh, and headed the corner onto Coleman who proceeded to kick over a yard out. Also, not once went into hiding, always wanted the ball and never afraid to carry it forward. Let's just focus on the negatives eh.

He needs a transfer because this Everton side should be chasing top four at least, especially this season, but they'll end up with mid table mediocrity. There is some talent in that Everton team.

Think this Jamie Carragher article from the other day explains it really well......

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...-learn-love-clean-sheet-sealing-big-move.html

Manchester United have had a poor season but defensively been really good with clean sheets. As highly rated as most of the Everton defence is they can't buy a clean sheet. The sign of a good defender is being part of clean sheets like defenders Carragher mentions like Baresi and Cannavaro. He's often not helped by his team mates who are more experienced so should be better equipped, but Everton need to starting learning to win to nill.

Smalling's only looked better because he's playing in a team that takes no risks for me. 2 full backs who don't go forward & 2 of Schneiderlin, Schweinsteiger, Carrick & Fellaini protecting him.

When they go for it like the Wolfsburg away game he still looks as dodgy as ever

Most overrated defender in the world. Not denying he could be world class and probably will be but for people to big him up to be a regular at Barcelona is ludicrous.

Usually everybody gets slated for talking down anyone from Barnsley who might be successful in some walk of life, here we have the opposite!

Last few times I've seen him he's been poor, rash challenges in the penalty box, poor marking and yet in todays paper they're talking £50 million to Barcelona or Real Madrid, bizarre.
