Before anyone goes crazy at this possibility. It's does seem possible if you think about it. Weir will have worked with him at Everton, and may look to bring him in on loan if he was impressed. You could say he's too good for League One. Which he is? However, Coleman is first choice right back and he may struggle to displace him at the moment. Also, Donny had a Everton youngest on loan last season who is a similar age to Stones and is England captin at Under 19/20 level. Can't remember his name. But, then again Moyes is at Man Utd and Weir may use his connections there for loans (or not). Plus Martinez must be fan of Stones as he looked to sign him. Anyway, just saying like and you could say it of many possible player movements. Discuss.
Luke Steele to Sheffield Wednesday, because some people spell his name "steel" and Sheffield is the city of steel, Flitcroft is confident he'll sign in 24 hours, in 24 hours it will be Wednesday, Sheffield Wednesday have Wednesday in their name. The signs are all there.
Hassell to Blackpool. I once went to Blackpool and had some hassle off some bouncers once. Remember where you heard it first.
I've said it before but surely Flitcroft has either already made the call to Martinez or is planning doing so, the lad needs games. Saying that I don't think we should become the type of club who does bigger clubs favours by almost guaranteeing their younger players game time which is what I think we did with Tunnicliffe who definitely wasn't as good as the players he kept out of the side and we lost every game he played in (if I remember right).
Cant see it mate..Stones as already proved he can more than hold his own with the best in the championship.the battle with Thomas Ince comes to mind..so how would he improve in league 1..
Can't see how 3rd division football could aid the development of a player as good as Stones..got to be bulls**t IMO.
He may have worked with Weir but he worked with Flicker for longer so surely with us being in the championship he'd come to us well before he went to that league one ***** hole.
Only possible in the same way as Wayne Rooney signing for us. Stones has proven himself already in the Championship - if he isnt going to get a game at Everton and was loaned out it would be to a championship club - not one in that ale house league - but I would be surprised if Martinez is loaning anyone out before pre-season training has even got going PS didnt Martinez try to sigm Stones in January anyway so he probably rates him
