I thought Everton were barmy last summer when they didn't sell to Chelsea, and I think they being now. £40million to £50million for a young defender is unbelieivable money. Worth it? Yes, in the long run probably at todays prices . . . but if he snaps his leg on the first day of the season he may never be the same again. He clearly wants to go and the profit they are making, even after our clause, is unreal.
Just read city's forum. Aparently someone on twitter is claiming it'll be completed tomorrow, the same chap said the same regarding Sane prior to him signing. Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
Agreed. It's the same way I feel about the likes of Hourihane and Winnall not signing contracts with us. If we offered them decent money on 3 year contracts it doesn't mean they won't still be able to move on to bigger and better things. If however they break their leg or snap their cruciate they may never get the offer of that contract again. People saying its a no brainer etc are missing the point. It just depends how much they want to gamble they won't get injured. I'm quite risk adverse so if someone offered me a 3 year £10k a week contract today, I would sign it. hoping to play well this season, and go for free to a £20k a week contract is quite risky.
