    He should definitely have made the squad over Jones and Smalling, but I can't say I exlected that.

    Still chuffed for the lad. Very bright future, quite obviously.

    Fantastic achievement to make the stand-by list in his first premier league season and without an international cap to his name. He'll undoubtedly go on to be a better player than both Jones and Smalling so although its looking like he might not make it this time we can look forward to him displacing them both over the next few years.
