The man has turned the club around in a short period. He has acted sooner than later to avoid relagation. In all his actions he has proved he has a business head first and foremost. Are there any doubters out there that would dispute that 'Football is a business' You only need to look at how the top clubs treat it.

    Well said mate.

Dont forget he is a Barnsley fan himself. For me he will always want what he himself thinks is best for the club.

Footballs a funny O'l game, Shep is the hero now, but if the signings don't pull us out of the sh*t, the hangman will be tightning the rope around poor Shep's neck. He's a grand owd lad, Barnsley fan, and a man of good intentions. I wish him well, and if we are in the comfort zone come next May, then i expect the whole town and council will be demanding a statue out side the box office doors of the great man and his dog.:)

The way in which he sacked Ritchie leaves him open to criticism.

...and as much as the transfer excitement grips us all, the cold 'business first' practicality is that we haven't signed a defender or a striker yet. So the jury is still out.

It was to the great shame of the club that it came to Ritchie having to say that.

    ...and that's the point.

Something that has not been mentioned here.............

    It is this
It takes guts to grab hold of a problem and try to solve it
It takes guts to put yourself above the parapet when everybody is shooting

This week Shep has shown leadership and guts
I think we should be thankful that we have a Chairman who will not sit by and watch the club decline
I myself am more confident right now in Barnsley Football Club than at anytime this season or indeed last season

Really tho.........how positive is everybody now ???
Now we know that somethings being done about the team and its problem areas

As a guess........McIndoe and Knight up front on Satdi (dancin) (dancin)
But we still need that centre half and a player in the mould of Shipperley

We don't have a problem in centre of left midfield. If rumours are right we're about the let the best player this season go to our relegation rivals.

    youung nudger

    you are just a hypocrite!!

It also took guts to appoint AR which you were against, how your tune has changed!!!

Start of the season you were slating the board etc to high heaven

I've not got a problem with GS and think he is doing a superb job, however i feel let down by the reasons behind AR sacking and believe that we are not been told the whole truth from some quarters remember we have only heard one side of the story so far!!

    Yes I know
But they have since listened to what I have been saying and come to the same conclusions
    We needed players
The players at Cardiff were hardly good enough for that division never mind the Championship

And yes, I didn't want Ritchie, I thought he was the cheap option, and I was proved right on that one as well.

    Wath Red......listen to what I say...........tha will probably learn summert (nodding2fingers) (nodding2fingers) (nodding2fingers)
