I wanted The Man and Flicker from Day 1. After the misery of his first three home games, I posted this: "We need to give the man and his team time. Rome.....day...........and all that. Wilson at BFC, Ferguson etc...they were all given time. It's pointless people saying he should go now. That will achieve fook all. We're three games in with 43 to go. His interview might have offended some but it did carry with it some stark realities. As fans we should be entitled to dream (particularly when we've been promised better things) but we should also recognise we cannot buy our way out of trouble / the status quo. His work ethic appears good and he seems to want to turn things around. We should support him in his attempt. If he continues to fail he will go. He knows that. When he came I predicted that he would fall out with the fans because "we" wouldn't have the patience with the passing game and he seems like a man who is highly principled. It's happened already. Let's try and change the atmosphere into something more positive and support and surprise him. Oh and Bobby most definitely does need bringing back." Seems like everyone loves him now......point is, if we hit a bad patch, we should support him even more. BTW - I'm intrigued as to where all The Moaners have gone. Can't even remember their monikers. Assholes. Oh and one other thing......if Owen Coyle gets the heave-ho who might Bolton think would be a good replacement? ........and would Our Man show us any loyalty after the way he was treated when he came??? I went today and I know that Hillcroft are a perfect fit for us - I guess I'm ranting cos of the wine and also cos we need recognise that patience is KEY......so for fooks sake...for the Assholes out there who have brutally criticised Hillcroft in the past....if we lose on Tuesday....don't fookin boo them, don't moan, just be PATIENT!!!!!
Amen brother.. Unfortunately though, those who gave him hammer and abuse, are able to post their "I was wrong" threads.. wheras any of us who were right, or any who backed him from day one, cant say so on ere without being called arrogant or a know-it-all. Strange but true, sadly.. Im just glad there now seems to be universal approval of Hillcroft and his lower-league dogsh*te
3 away wins already matches last years total Robins well backed by supporters during his stay appreciate what Hillcroft did at Rochdale even if form dips doing a fantastic job in hard times.Win next two who knows where this season will go. Happy xmas to you all.
point 1 - anyone writing off a manager after 3 games is nearly as bad as anyone gloating after only 1/3rd of a season We are in an almost identical position to this time last yeat so there is still plenty of time for the wheels to come off. Dont get me wrong I am very happy with Hillcroft so far and like the work they are doing but they havent acheived anything memorable yet Point2 why would bolton come in for a manager who has so far just one promotion from the 4th division on his CV - hasnt done enough with us yet to start attracting the bigger sides I will be more concerned if we get ourselves into the playoff positions but now is much too soon
50 points target does not matter where anyone else is .one step at a time.Kieth hill very rational, reads the game very well.poor defending when we were fatigued in later half of game lost composure ,sure hill- croft express will work on it! got to give management credit ,not frightened to bring players on to improve game. resilience after conceding 3 goals is a plus point to remember, never give up. join the HILL-CROFT EXPRESS
Bolton need premiership experience - Mark Hughes if blackburn don't get there first. As for hill - I've never seen a manager turned on so quickly - people had made their minds up before he'd started. The wheels may come off it's true but I'm enjoying the ride so far
A lot of the criticism was based on his attitude- this is a man who actually had the audacity to blame the crowd for cheering the team on as the reason we conceded a goal. that is UNREAL! You can't fault what he has done in selecting players, particularly one kidneyed league one reservists who become rare gems. that is also UNREAL
He didn't blame the crowd as a whole...just suggested in not so many words that the boo-boys were t***s,and I think he was probably right.
No , he was wrong when he had a pop at the fans for booing, the team played absolutely crap and deserved the boos, just like they have deserved the cheers they get when they win and play well. Swings and roundabouts mate. I really cannot believe that the crowd should be expected to cheer a ***** display. Even blamed the fans when we conceded a second against Bristol(?).
point 1 - not gloating - just have belief point 2 - recruitment is about spotting potential - he has the potential point 3 - agree - a long way to go
Agree with you bbchile - totally f=====g bonkers to blame the fans for us conceding - not one of his finest moments
Good post The moaners should be publicly apologising to Keith and his staff. I was at the Southampton match and while I was disappointed with the result I could see that we were trying to play properly and I also recognised that Southampton were a decent side. I didn't boo and I didn't come on here having a go at the manager. Still not quite recovered from saturday, what a game.
