Stop the negativity and the conspiracy theories.

Money probably is available to sign players to improve the squad but may be the thinking behind it is that we have signed Devaney, Howard is nearly ready, why do we need another left sided midfielder? We may as well save the money for when we need it. However, some of the negative gits on here like the sound of their own typing and think of conspiracy theories without knowing the facts. We dont know how much Tandy may have wanted, contract length etc and that may have dictated whether we offered anything. It is easy to be critical without knowing the facts.

I also think SM and David in Lincoln probably wanted us to lose on Tuesday so they could justify their negativity. Most people do tend to support the team, win, lose or draw as that is what being a footy fan is all about.
As for a take on the general situation, many people are calling for more defenders, it does sound as though AR wanted to bring one in before the deadline but there is no point just for the sake of it. Carbon and Reid are playing well and we have conceded in 4 of our 8 games. That means we have kept 4 clean sheets and equated over the season that would be 23. We have failed to score in one game only, equate this over the season and it would be about 6 games where we fail to score. I seriously believe with the addition of Howard and Kell to the ranks and with decent service to Hayes and A N Other we will be up there.

    Roll on Saturday.

    I agree

But you are being harsh on David, he was being sarcastic after we won 3.0.....</p>

He always want us to win....</p>

"like the sound of their own typing "

    nice one.

And I for one am still hammering away that our defence (or the personnel) are more than capable. And that's without our best keeper!

creative midfielder needed, pls. Someone to give that there Hayes a chance or 3, instead of him having to dig out his own.

You pair should start a clique

you've got all the makings of something special. your shared dediction to putting a positive spin on everything, blindly following the cause and fighting with all your might at night, any sense of realism from others, makes you truly the Bestest fans. I bow to you.

I shall now forthwith refer to your new clan as the 'We Are Never Knowingly Ever Realistic Set'.

    So...

To be a 'supporter' you have to be happy with the way the team plays and every player in it?

    Right. Okay. I see.

    RE: So...

No, not true, you have to SUPPORT (i.e. encourage, praise, constructively criticise, etc.) the 11 players on the pitch who are trying to win the match while realising that we live in a real world where what you want is not always possible and that the failure of AR to get the players YOU want is not necessarily a) a failing or b) a conspiracy.</p>

Barnsley FC is a business and must operate within it's own viable parameters ensuring that the business survives and (god forbid) may even make a profit thereby ensuring next years survival.  We will be more viable if successful but must strive towards this in a managable way, this doesn't mean spending money just because players are available but spending money on the right players when both they are available and the cash is.  By my understanding that is a big part of AR's job, the other part being making sure that this collection of players then function to the best of their abilities.</p>

Or you could turn to prayer....</p>

    RE: So...

I cheer every player on the pitch when I'm there, but I reserve the right to point out their failings or that of the team/manager once I've left the ground.

Doesn't make me less passionate than the 'Get behind 'em' brigade, nor does it mean I'd like to see us lose 'to be proved right'.

What it does mean is that years of failure and mediocrity have tainted my 'positivity' about the club somewhat, that's all.

Where's the bit about not typing criticism on a website

and not offering an opinion if its negative towards the players and the manager in anyway?

Gaz...dont know how long you've supported the redz

but "years of failure and mediocrity have tainted your positivity" - think back to the 70's, we were in the old div 4 gates of less than 3,000 and totally rubbish, we are a small to medium sized club and our rightful place is in this div or the one above, we'll get back there soon, of that i'm sure, and we may once again flirt with the premier league, until then we'll have to make the best of it.

Dear SM, All knowing football and life guru...

It will please you to know that in my heart of hearts I am capable of similar levels of pessimism displayed by your good self and your own depressing clique.

However, I discovered that constant pessimism and yearning for multimillion pound signings along with constant champions league clashes at Oakwell led to an outbreak of misery I found difficult to escape.

I came to the conclusion that, instead of opting for the easy negative type comments you are undoubtingly one of the champions of, I would opt to take the more difficult but happier route of being positive and realistic.

    Yours

    Spartacus

    Cant see it.

Just give credit where credit is due.

Is 3-0 away a good result, yes or no?
