Why in a cup game at home to team from a lower league do we start with one striker up front? Surely this was a game to give the likes of Nyantanga, Jennings, RNL a try out so that Danny can see what they are like first hand. Then why take off a forward who can hold the ball up and replace him with one who can't rather than give O'Grady support or someone to lay the ball off too?We were a total shambles in the latter stages of the second half and all those who have been to Oakwell this season could see what was coming. However the time has come for Danny Wilson to bring in his own men as I feel many of those on the pitch and the dugout have had their time(including MM) and a fresh outlook is needed.I think Danny will bring success eventually but needs to have the coaching staff he requires not somebody elses before attitudes will change and the fortunes of the club. However he needs the support of the board and fans too.!!
danny said it wasn't a game for experimentation, and that he would play his strongest side. that's what he thought was his strongest side.
Very strange not to see Jennings especially. Whilst Nyatanga for Kennedy looked a no-brainer. Strange line-up. As for who's picking the team... well I'd be surprised if Danny allowed anyone to unduly sway his opinion but it doesn't feel quite right him not having his own men by his side (presuming he does have preferred coaches).
i'm not buying the mellon argument at all. danny is manager and he picks the team. he's had long enough to suss the squad now, and he's making bad decisions.
My worry is, why are ALL the managers picking the same people? We keep screaming out for change, but the same people get to stay in the team. There's got to be something we aren't aware of... hasn't there?
