After the Leicester win, I thought it'd be funny to see their fans overall reaction. So whenever I do this I go to the ja606 site, and to my unsurprise they deemed it fatally unacceptable to lose to 'a team like Barrnsleee'. Phrases used were: embarrassing performance; losing against an average at best side; should be beating these small clubs; PEARSON OUT! Fast forward 5 days later, lo and behold, Leicester sign the player the ripped them to bits. And those very same people who called us an average team are now wanting our entire midfield, seriously. They now want Perkins, Butterfield and they said because Vaz Te rejected a new contract with us (which he didnt of course) they want to see him signed for free at EOS. Hmm is it just me who now all of a sudden wants everyone connected with LCFC to suffer a long drawn out period of admin followed by subsequent relegation? Just to take their heads from out their own arses slightly...
Just looked at one of Leicester's forums...Sad how some football fans behave. Barnsley have always been s*** blah, blah, blah. Drinkwater is a very good player but as one Leicester fan pointed out, he hasn't really achieved much on any of his other loan moves. He came to life at our club. And that got me thinking. How much of the quality of his performances have been down to the quality of our management team? I am pretty confident that NP will not achieve much at Leicester and I am even more convinced that poor old Danny will not be the same player working under him. So carry on gloating Leicester, I have a funny feeling that with Keith and Flitty at the helm we will end up having the last laugh.
Make me laugh they do. Between us and them who was the last club to be in League One? After this season they'll wish they'd taken a leaf out of Barnsley's book because they are going to be financially fecked; oh yes I expect us to be enjoying the last laugh in more ways than one.
That is a very interesting point. I had this thought about Vaz Te but it could also be the case with Drinkwater, he hasn't done anything previous to playing for us.
I think a lot of the performances of the players are down to the quality of Hill and Flitcroft. They get the very best out of players.
I was thinking the same Its not just individual players, its the spirit and fight throughout the squad that's made the difference at Oakwell this season, all down to management. Clough and Taylor had it and did the same wherever they went, I think Hillcroft have got it as well.
Re: I was thinking the same When we signed him and Huddersfiekd fan at work said that he was a good player but injury prone.
In his defence he is only 20. He's a good player who will be a top Championship player at the very least, he has the 'tools' to be a decent mid to lower Prem player in my opinion.
