I think this run has completely masked the issue that we have little strength I'm depth. Winnall aside, there was nobody on the bench capable of changing a game. Tutton and Khan are unknown quantities. Scowen is a cracking player, but best suited to when we're trying to defend a lead.

Maybe next week will be different when Isgrove is back; I reckon Fletcher could drop back out of the side and provide that option for us if we need it.

I'd have put Scowen on at half time. Brownhill was having a mare and Scowen always puts lots of effort in, we could have done with his energy and tackling. He seems to draw a lot of fouls too and they had a couple of players on bookings. Reckon we missed Isgrove too.

Brownhills second half performance was beyond abysmal. I know it was only a half but surely thats the opportunity Scowens been waiting for to get back in.

We've lost one game. We move on. No issue with depth the last few weeks when we've had to cover injuries and suspensions etc. I think the majority of us are sensible enough to accept you can't win em all, and that today we came up against a better side on the day, aided by poor officials. Sometimes it's not your day. Looking at the other results too, I think it's definitely not been our day.

Next time out, as it has been for a while in fairness, it might well prove to be our day again.

Was Isgrove injured or just excluded?

He probably doesn't collect the favourable statistics regarding goals, assists etc. but there's an energy to him that seems to add to the team.

I wonder if he'd have played if fit.

Chapman and he are similar players, and Chapman did at Walsall what Isgrove has not done.

Even so, I like Isgrove's team ethic.

I'd have brought Scowen on at half time, or maybe ten minutes or so into the second half but I'd put him on for Conor, who I thought just wasn't at the races today.

Can't help but laugh that we're always a loss away from going from "challenging for automatic" and our squad being evaluated for how it would do in the premier league to being total **** with some

The one we lost 0-2 and Brownhill constantly kept playing into trouble rather than the logical pass to the man in space. He was the worst player on the pitch second half by a million miles.
