Whilst I think mido will do a good job for us and has improved rapidly in the 3 games I've seen this week, what else have we got?

Craig Davies, another big lad who blows hot and cold

Danny Rose, as promising as he is, he's not ready to lead the line for a full season

Chris dagnall, way way out of his depth

We simply haven't got the strength in depth or variation that we need

Has Dagnell not developed from last season because talk has been of improvement in training?

Although I'd like to say he as improved immensely unfortunately I feel he's not going to be able to cut it at this level.

Very harsh on Dagnall. Hasn't had the service since he joined. Would love to see him in a team on form, bet he' an handful for defenders.

Better off judging a player in a poor team than one in a successful team. Other players can make you look better than you are.

An unfit mido gave their defenders far more to worry about in 20 minutes than dagnall would give them all season.

I hope he proves me wrong.

Most strikers need service. Sometimes a striker can make something out of nothing, however them sort of strikers don't come cheap and end up playing in the premiership, Serie A, Bundesliga etc.
What did Shane Long do today? Bugger all, but he ran around and put himself about, just didn't have the service.

Thought all summer we needed a striker. I hear the calls for a defender but a creative midfielder and forward were my priorities. At present we have an absolute gamble (Mido), a VERY hit and miss striker (Davies) and then basically a League One lad yet to make the step up (Dagnall) and kids. Not enough in my opinion. It'll be interesting who gets the nod up front, because if Mido plays to get fit and because he's the best on paper, if he struggles, Davies then comes in very short of match sharpness.
