Swindown Town striker Tony Thorpe has had his contract cancelled by mutual agreement.

I saw him play a couple of times last season and he looked pretty decent. Maybe a possibility during the transfer window?

A couple of years ago maybe Andy but not now. Old, slow and lazy!

no because of some stupid rule

the FA/FL say that because he has played for that team while the window was closed then that is the only team he can play for until it re-opens.

I understand that the club have been talking to him with a view to a season long contract from January

Yes, but your predictions have the success rate of Barry Conlon's shooting.

Not a chance of Proudlock coming here in my opinion.

    Unlike the majority

On a short term contract I think he'd be just the ticket. No matter how well he did I wouldn't offer him a long term contract (I just don't think he's got the right attitude) but until the end of the season I think he'd be an excellent signing. I'd obviosly lie to him and tell him if he performed well there'd be a 3 year contract waiting for him, but I wouldn't lose any sleep over deceiving a gimp like him.
