Worrying rumour that after Matty James signs that'll be it.

Gotta hope against hope that that's wrong and they are still working on addressing our number one requirement.

We've certainly strengthened the supply line. That added steel to the midfield might finally allow Woodrow to focus on goalscoring again, rather than having to drop deep to get on the ball as we've often seen from him.

It might help us get the best out of Chaplin, Schmidt and Frieser too.

Whilst I would also like to see a striker come in to add another option, if we sign James, I'll not be too disappointed if we've not found the right striker.

I’ll breath a sigh of relief when the James deal is over the line

Strengthened the supply-line and potential goals from midfield as well, which could be our best and Glavinesque way of doing well this season

Just been watching us beat spurs in the cup - what a header by AW (Barnard's and Redfearn's goals weren't bad either). Oh for nights like that again. Sigh.

Our number one requirement wasn't a striker though. The way we've been playing we probably rivalled Wycombe for the poorest midfield in the league.

I'd like another striker in, but it's a false fallacy that one would have made much difference to the chances we were creating as we weren't creating many at all.

Yes indeed. You don't know what you're missing till it's gone mate. Will we ever get to those dizzy heights again?

In your opinion our number one requirement might not have been a striker but in mine it was/is.

I'm more than happy that we have added some midfield talent and I hope that they do create more now but we need a striker. That is my opinion, based on my experience and knowledge. You're welcome to yours but don't deny mine which knows that good strikers create chances for themselves, bring others into the game and hold the ball up when the team is under pressure, as well as take chances created by others. It is more than a false fallacy that a striker is just someone that you wheel out in the box.

And if the club didn't see it as a priority at all then they'd have been saddled if that Kulenovic hadn't changed his mind and stayed in Croatia!

Matty James and I'd be happy with going with that. Hope Chaplin and Woodrow get back in amongst the goals.
