People keep moaning about our strikers (rightly so) and keep saing we need a proven striker, however no names are usually mentioned so come on who would you get if you could. They must be- a)proven at this level or above b)in our price range (transfer fee) c)in our price range (wages) d)would be interested in joining us
Not an answer, but a question what is our price range? Also what can we afford for wages? If you know that, how do you know? There is only Patrick Cryne that knows the answers for certain and I am sure he wont be telling the fans , so all we can do is speculate as to who we MAY be able to sign. I am not being funny with you , just cant see how anyone can actually know how much cash is available.
Perhaps we can get the Carroll kid from Newcastle once their other strikers are fit - He'd be available on loan (to get first team footy) Would not cost the earth - in wages or transfer fee Target man size plus can score goals This is the type of front man we need more than any other.............remember Trevor Aylott/ Ash Ward - both outa Chelsea/Derby first team when we signed them
I've a list I'd enquire about David Connolly (Sunderland, though I've a feeling he may be injured?) Simon Cox (Swindon, buy, has definite quality) Daryl Murphy (Sunderland, probably loan) Rade Prica (Sunderland, probably loan) Paul Gallagher (Blackburn, buy, time he left Blackburn to forge a career) Nathan Delfouneso (Villa, loan if they buy another striker) Billy Sharp (Deedars, buy as seems to have fallen out with Blackwell) Ched Evans (Man City, loan, not featured in a while and less and less likely to) Chris Porter (Motherwell, buy) Freddie Sears (West Ham, loan - not featured since November) That enough to be going at? I'm not saying we can afford them all, or that they're all available, but I'd be highly surprised if we couldn't get any of them if willing to splash a little. Speculate to accumulate and all that.
RE: I've a list I'd enquire about Billy Blade from Blackwell would be ideal to play alongside a target man for sure (chinny)
Carroll started today And played well by all accounts despite the scoreline, features in Kinners plans as one of the four strikers.
Rated at 1 million and linked with four premiership teams I watched him play for Rushden and Diamonds and he was pretty woeful, although did score goals in bundles at that level (three hat tricks in a row once I think, then no goals for 8 games!). Hit a rich vein of form this season, but I think he's just another Leon Knight and not worth the risk.
It's a shame Rowan Vine isn't nearer to fitness. After so long out QPR might want to send him out on loan first. What's going on with Garry O'Connor as well at Birmingham?
RE: Not an answer, but a question Well just guessing like. I think we offered about £20000 per week for Phillips but he come without a fee and £1.2 million for Hume so at a guess say 15k wages and £1million, obviously rough figures like.
