I think Macken is unbalancing the front line because no one seems to be able to play at the side of him, he is not tall enough to win headers and flick ons and all of his good lay offs seem to be in the centre circle where they never amount to anything. I think Cureton or Hume when fit need a big strong player to work off .

I think what we need is Macken to hold the ball up then one of the midfielders to run past him as he passes to them and then they can create a chance for themself or for Cureton/Someone else.

    When cureton was at colchester

He had Iwelumo to play alongside of.
Big strong and powerful, complimented each other.

I dont see what role macken has been asked to play these days, he holds the ball up and then gives it away.
Doesnt make any runs in channels or has many shots on net/target.

Not a very good player in my opinion to be honest.

Macken dont win owt cos he dont move, its really as simple as that. I do hope he'll be moving at least once this month, to another club.

Absolutely spot on. If we get a striker with any kind of pace, a proper targetman striking partner is a must. Macken has done a job for us but if we seriously want to move up a level and compete in this league his days should be numbered.

I think it will take an injury to Macken for Davey to stumble on a partnership that works.

As much as I like Macken, I've been saying that for a while. SD has set his stall out to use him as our main striker and as such it makes us powder puff against most sides. We pump balls up into the air all the time and the thing keeps coming back. Whatever two we play, apart from Odejayi, are much of a muchness and too similar in height and play. We need, and have done for some time, a big target man who can just bring the strike partner in to the game, a la Wilko and Super John Hendrie. One to do the muscle, one to do the craft.
