I didn't really see a problem with Broad playing to the whistle so to speak and let the umpire make the decision. Cue the moral type saying integrity in cricket has gone. Now what about the Ausie who did exactly the same thing when he knew he hit it. Cook played it right and used the appeals better. The Ausies invented waiting for the appeal and not walking no matter what. Would we all prefer Daggers in the play off final when he knows he's offside, and clean through in the last min to get promotion, to stop say there you go ref your wrong and hand over the ball.
Umpire is there to make decisions, why walk, there is enough bad decisions given over the years. the DRS were ***** first few days, trott wasnt out and Agar was both wrong. Haddin hit it, snicko, audio and hotspot proved it. We deserved to win,
I know its what I'm saying. A few of our guys were wrongly given out while they got away with a few calls.
What a great Test Match, one day and T20 cant come close to drama like that, ebbed and flowed, good cricket and **** ups...it was all there, bring on Lords.
Before neutral umpires came into the game England had little chance of winning in some test playing nations ask Mike Gatting. If the umpire asks a fielder did you catch the ball most players would be truthful Brian Lara is a good example In Australia. DRS is not a perfect system and is relatively new as has been proved in this match but with all the technology available the third umpire should have the ability to correct the absolute howler no matter how many reviews have been made . Surely we want as many correct decisions as possible to be made . With the dry summer continuing the ball tampering issue will come to a head again at some time.
