We're a good team, play good football, have great academies.......... your eyes are totally deceiving you!
I've seen the squad. There are even with injuries and those in the senior team a big selection of England's great hopes still out in Israel. Jesus wept.
Exactly. Funny how I've not read anything from him on this subject (unless I missed it of course). But then, how can you defend the indefensible? We are just overpaid talentless crap, from U21s to full international level. End of story.
He started piping up at the start of the tournament saying i didnt watch enough youth football, my comments were only right about league two academies at best, etc etc. Hes shut his beak since hes been shown up by his heroes. They are guff.
How come Pearce is getting all the stick though, other teams had full internationals playing for them while some of ours were off playing a meaningless friendly (they could still have made the u21's) so that's the FA'S fault and a big slice of the blame for me has to lie with the system that produces gutless little starlets that think they know it all and owe nobody anything by the time that they are 20!
Jonjo Shelvey Makes a better shelf than a footballer on that showing, Stevie Wonder has more vision, at least he could be bothered to go I suppose.
Don't understand the Pearce stick. He's in charge of them for about 6 weeks every year. The development comes from the clubs. Wonder how many players from Germany/Italy/France are in the U21 side and playing in their second division. That's where most of ours play.
Looking at the bigger England picture, we spend an absolute fortune on St George's Park, pay ridiculous wages to players and international fancy coaches.......and are we any better off now than say 20/30 years ago? Nope.....we've won **** all and don't look like winning **** all in near future.
The latest example of a class player who turned out to be a poor manager. He won't want to lose his easy job though of the occasional kids match and getting VIP treatment "scouting" at any premiership match he wishes. If that goes he would have to go find a full time club manager job which would take up much more of his time.
Was having a look through the Norwegian team when they bet us the other night, amazing how many of their players are playing regularly in top leagues around Europe and seem to go unnoticed. Whenever anyone young from this country puts a good half season together (Zaha, Ince etc) they're been linked with every top club in the country for ridiculous amounts of money. Then when they do move they're mainly sat on a bench at a big club (Henderson, Adam Johnson etc.) & the only development they get comes from reserve games. I think a massive part of our problems is agents looking out for themselves when in reality our youngsters would be better off staying at smaller clubs & starting 40 or so games. Zaha will be the next example of this. He could be playing every game for Palace but instead he'll be a squad player at United & probably only used in the Carling Cup or off the bench when they're 4-0 up & want to rest Rooney or Van Persie.
I really wish I could argue with you and say you're wrong, mate. Unfortunately, I can't because you're right.
Didn`t he get us to the final of this U21 competition 4 years ago, and but for a Robbie Fowler missed pen would have taken Man City into Europe. So not completely poor as a manager.
