Finally got round to watching the highlights of the Rochdale game and the penalty / sending off due to our idiotic goalkeeper No problem with the sending off - the nutcase iheadbutted their player but the penalty.... Their striker was offside and clearly interferring with play so shouldnt we have been given a free kick for the offside rather than Rochdale getting a pen or does assault lead to a penalty even if the original offence was the other way in which case why when there is pushing in the box before a corner doesnt the ref blow for either a free kick or pen before the corner is taken
Seem to remember chopra getting a pen for us when someone elbowed him out of play.. Must be some rule
I don't think the offside was actually given, that was the issue. The flag went up but ball ran through to the keeper so I assume advantage was played and therefore ball was still live?
Do you really think that was an headbutt then Farnham? Yes, he was foolish to push his head into his face but an headbutt never. Their player made a meal of it and Alnwick should have known that would happen.
No it wasnt a proper headbut but it was still a stupid thing to do and as you say he should have known that would happen - which is why I have no complaints about the sending off
