SHEFFIELD Wednesday boss Paul Sturrock has backed the Reds to follow his side into The Championship after leading the Owls to Play Off Final success 12 months ago.

Sturrock told the Sheffield Star: "I think Barnsley will win in a tight affair. They are an attacking unit; they will enjoy the big spaces of Cardiff, and their defence has tightened up dramatically this season. I think that will be a key factor.

"If they win, they're going to taste a huge elation. I suspect that Barnsley fans might be a bit like ours were when I first took over: looking mostly towards next season, and not really expecting to be in this position. But I think that Barnsley have the desire and the will now and the scales have tipped in their favour."
