Got to start Tuesday for me. I know he came on with fresh legs but offers a final ball which Thomas simply doesn’t do 9 times out of 10.

Thomas can then come off the bench fresh to run at their defence.

I don’t understand how it’s taken this long for him to be given a go - could tell he was quality from his first few games

    Much better than Thomas imho

Styles must be slow and immobile when it comes to playing his part in our defensive shape. Or possibly running forward.

Cos he's twice as smart on the ball as Thomas is.

He does seem to have been on the outskirts of the first 11 for a while. Hopefully he’ll get a chance now.

You’ve hit the nail on the head.

Thomas has the pace and the stamina to work backwards but Styles has the technical ability and end product. If only we could combine them, we’d have some player! Well, for a season and a half anyway.

I just don't see what Thomas brings to the table at all.

Thomas brings nothing playing in a midfield diamond because he's a winger. Styles is much more suited to playing there. If there are concerns with him defensively, play him at the point (if we must continue with a diamond) and move cauley back up to his natural position.

The way we play does not suit Thomas as he's effectively out of position. Styles seems to be much more comfortable and would be in my starting eleven for the Birmingham game.

Thomas needs dropping. Works hard but his touch his loose, he misplaces passes and he can't finish. Only young so there's hope yet but styles, simoes and Bahre all look better players.

I don’t think you need to give Thomas a kicking to appreciate that Styles was outstanding when he came on.

Thomas is a winger, styles needs to play if we will play without wingers
