subtle differences between AR's interview and the report

<font face="courier new,courier,monospace" size="2">PW: Andy lets start with your reactions to your Chairman's comments this week</font></p>

<font face="Courier New" size="2">AR: Well I wasn't happy with them but I've not seen the Chairman since the comments were made so I'm going to speak with him this afternoon and we'll have a chat this afternoon that's as far as I'm going to comment on that</font></p>

<font face="Courier New" size="2">PW: How key will that meeting be?</font></p>

<font face="Courier New" size="2">AR: I don't know-we need to have a good discussion and I'm sure that will be the case</font></p>

<font face="Courier New" size="2">PW: What upset you?</font></p>

<font face="Courier New" size="2">AR: Well like I said I'm not really going to get into that-I'll speak with the Chairman this afternoon and we'll see what happens from that</font></p>

<font face="Courier New" size="2">PW: Has it made your position untenable?</font></p>

<font face="Courier New" size="2">AR: I don't see it as untenable but like I say it's got to be resolved this afternoon</font></p>

<font face="Courier New" size="2">PW: When you say resolved what do you mean by that-your future or just the relationship generally?</font></p>

<font face="Courier New" size="2">AR: Well there's the(unclear) thing that goes into it-I want to know why the Chairman made those comments and some of the comments he made he knows the reasons why that the things happened so we've got to have a chat this afternoon like I say</font></p>

<font face="Courier New" size="2">PW: There were two things really to come out of it -I asked him about the contract and he said that that's no longer an issue -ther are more pressing issues to be had .We had a conversation last Friday when you said you wanted it nailed this week because you felt it was unsettling for you unsettling for the players so how does that leave your position now?</font></p>

<font face="Courier New" size="2">AR: Well my position on that is still the same I think it is unsettling -I think it's unsettling for me and unsettling for the players it's as simple as that -that's my perception of it.</font></p>

<font face="Courier New" size="2">I don't disagree with the Chairman that winning games is important that is what we are here for and that's what I want to do and we are all over the country and going abroad looking for players so that's not an issue -obviously we do want to win games but knowing who's going to be in charge in the long term is of importance to the players and I think that's one of the things it's part and parcel of a settled side</font></p>

<font face="Courier New" size="2">PW: Can you outline why you feel you've earned that new contract?</font></p>

<font face="Courier New" size="2">AR: I think it speaks for itself -we did ever so well last year on no budget at all  -we're playing some excellent stuff at the moment -we just can't finish off games and the lads have been absolutely tremendous I can't ask for any more of them -you know there are certain areas we need to tighten up -as I said to you we need 2 or 3 experienced players to come and help them along because they're magnificent -nobody could point the finger at them for lack of effort or lack of willingness to run for the cause -we just can't finish off games we can't keep leads and that's where we need experienced players to come in and steady the ship and give them their experience</font></p>

<font face="Courier New" size="2">PW: Will you be pushing the contract situation when you speak to Gordon?</font></p>

<font face="Courier New" size="2">AR: I'm not initially going in to speak about that -no -we'll just have a chat and I'm sure that will come up in the meeting</font></p>

<font face="Courier New" size="2">PW: His attitude seems to be you've got 8 months left to run there's no problem</font></p>

<font face="Courier New" size="2">AR: Well we'll see what happens</font></p>

<font face="Courier New" size="2">PW: He also spoke about the lack of signings -one thing that puzzled me a little bit was the fact that he said that the board are putting players your way rather than the other way around. Is that an arrangement you're happy with?</font></p>

<font face="Courier New" size="2">AR: I'm not dishappy with it. No I mean sometimes you can do with a little bit of a helping hand. They have mentioned names to me and I've pursued them -got my own slant on things and one or two we have agreed on-others that I don't want at the football club. I think that's pretty healthy and I don't see there's any problem in that</font></p>

 

so not all as rosy as you would think. Love to know what's gone off this afternoon
