Says Darren Moore is part of a Derby clearout & will be given a free transfer. If that is the case I can't see them demanding 400k for Macken. The hold up is probably down to wages and/or his pay off from Derby?
I heard yesterday the hold up is that Derby are awaiting international clearance for a new striker before they let him go (although it's meant to be all finalised with Macken)
De Silva waiting on compensation from Everton before signing (agreed terms so I hear)

there's clearly no rush to strengthen the squad before the deadline, we seem hell bent on weakening it before we'll take a risk on more expensive (suitable) players, so either 31 Jan or not at all is my guess. Then we'll get some injuries in early Feb and it'll be the fans fault for not singing loudly enough.
From what people have said... it sounds like it'll all happen soon, but of course no idea how reliable the info was, but heard the same from a few people
RE: From what people have said... Bloody soon I hope and before Colchester!! De Silva could play at Southend as well if it's this week, Macken can't though!!
RE: From what people have said... The bloke who posts on here as 'Brian Potter' reckoned Macken was a done deal & we'd agreed a fee with Everton for De Silva. Seeing as he was right about Tininho, too obscure to guess about and drop lucky, I would say he had a good source and we are/were close to getting the other two as well.
looking at the way things are progressing with our 'signings' probably get them all agreed by the 1st february...after all, with us sliding down the table Davey doesnt seem to be in any sort of rush does he?
