RE: Sunday paper - People Barnsley boss, Andby Ritchie is planning an ambitious double swoop for Nicky Barmby and Chris Morgan.Barmby is on borrowed time at home-town club Hull, while Sheffield United defender Norgan can help shore up the back four. (Todays People)
RE: Sunday paper - People Barmby has a lot of skill, but has he lost his hunger for the game. I've said it before and will say it again, I'd have Morgan back tomorrow. Leon Knight is the most interesting of the gossip snippets. I am sure that Ritchie and Holden could get the best out of him. The lad knows where the net is, although I would have thought that Ritchie would consider him too like Nads. So, it will be either him or Constantine then. I wonder who Ritchie will go for?
Yes to Morgan and Knight Two good players that would definately do a job for us but I would be slightly apprehensive about Barmby.
I can understand the reasoning for trying to bring in an experienced defender But I'm somewhat perplexed at where we'd play Nick Barmby .
RE: I can understand the reasoning for trying to bring in an experienced defender Right wing, good competition for Devaney.
RE: I can understand the reasoning for trying to bring in an experienced defender Don't see where Barmby would fit in....we need a defensive midfielder if anything
Barmby surely a waste? Could have come a while since but chose Hull in the great White Clearance sale. Wasnt fond of McPhail but think we got the better of the 2 players
RE: Barmby Do we really need another squad player - surely on a tight budget we need players who can really make an impact and quickly?
But... what can he give... Decent back up even if a player gets suspended or injured for a bit, better than colin healy for backup. Then Nick Barmby will be good to use and say the last 15 minutes.
RE: A la Booty Boy? Still alot better quality than what we have got on bench, and id say better than togwell, technical wise anyway.
RE: A la Booty Boy? Its the attitude I'm concerned about Cant stand them but in a seasoned pro the attitude of a Windass or Sheringham is what's needed
RE: Barmby In recent weeks people have complained about the lack of quality on the bench, players like Barmby would certainly improve the quality level.
RE: Barmby Only opinion but I believe we should spend what little cash we have on players who will change the starting 11 which will automatically strengthen the bench
No someone in huddersfield that is mates with abbott says barnsley enquired about him but no offer made.
