they've been allocated 7746 tickets and will not recieve any more than this. there are not many tickets remaining according to their official site. sounds like there should be a good overall attendance.

    Doing A Wednesday.......

then with the following. Still think it should have been played at 3pm. And why do their fans get charged 20 ? Seems wrong charging your own fans more.........

Hope our stewards keep making them .....

....sit down all match, like their stewards did to us, and then eject the 5,000 that won't!

Our stewards just dont seem to care about standing up. Southend and home fans have done a conga around the stands. Thats the way it should be. People are there to enjoy themselves, as long as nobody is put in any danger.

It isn't just a question of danger

it's also a question of selfishness, pig ignorance and lack of respect for others.

A handful of standers means a whole load of others unable to see.

But who cares, as long as they're enjoying themselves?

It is a matter of choice mate. You take yours and you deny me mine.

Also try telling that to the old guy behind me, 75 with a dicky heart who's up and down like a whore's drawers because people like you can't obey the rules.

Don't get me wrong, I'm all in favour of a return to standing areas and I use them myself when I get a choice.

But for me, if you're in a seating area - SIDDARN!

Everyone stands when we are attacking the ponty end anyway. Wheres the difference? You will never get everybody to sit down for 90 mins. And I wouldn't want that. It would ruin the atmosphere. I understand your point though. Maybe it is time for a section of terracing to return to football grounds.

There isn't many left for general sale only a couple of hundred by all accounts, everyone is looking forward to visiting your place. Shame the police have moved the kick off to 1:30 as alot of people have already booked train tickets and are going to be stuck in Barnsley until 6:30 - 7pm with little more to do than find a pub where most will keep on drinking, seems the police are concerned about the numbers we're bringing drinking before the match so are trying to restrict the amount of time they can, (no beer for away fans in the ground) but like i said all it means is there will be alot more forced to stay in Barnsley for hours after the match until their train is due. Should be a cracking day out and if its anything like what we had at Sheff Wed earlier in the season should be a good atmosphere.

    My point was .........

stand up at Sunderland, cos you can't see for those stood up in front of you, and get ejected from the ground .... oh that is unless you are a home fan, then you can stand up all around the ground and stand up 20 yards away from the away fans, in full view of the stewards who are ejecting the away fans from the ground.... same happened at Southampton, home fans stood up both sides of us while we are being told to sit down every 2 fooking minutes ....... stand up at Barnsley and nobody gives a flying fook, consistency of approach please at every ground, that's what I'm saying

    Passionate..................or just plain thick?

At Roker Park they used to roar madly if they got a throw in on the half way line. When they scored, well..............grown men copulating amongst each other aint a pretty site, especially when they are 20 stone, shaven headed Geordies (or Mackems, Tackems whatever they like to be called).

    RE: My point was .........

The stewards at our place are b*****ds to Away fans I'm told, the stewards try to get the SW & SE corners to sit down but no sooner have they sat down and the steward moved on they stand up again, plus they have to see the same fans week in week out so i think they're abit wary of being over the top where as with away fans the likelihood of seeing them again is small, this is something I see regularly from away fans who have visited the SOL and it seems the only thing that spoils a good away trip

    You are at it again!

They aren't charging home fans more - it says "prices are FROM £20" - prices in the home areas are also FROM £20!

    South Yorkshire Police .........

......... always change our kick offs, they do it versus you lot, Wednesday and Leeds, even Chesterfield last season but the same force allowed Sheff Weds to play Sheff Utd at 3pm on a Saturday afternoon last season, and rarely change Sheff Weds matches from 3pm even though they get double our crowds .... ridiculous.

It also happens to us away from home, we never play Chesterfield away at 3pm, yes Chesterfield (!!!), always 12 or 1pm, why? and Leeds away this season was a 12.00 kick off .......... this Saturday the mighty (desperate) Leeds are at home to the very massive club Sheff Weds, guess what time ..... 3pm kick off... baffles me completely

Quite surprising that Leeds at home was 3pm.

S Yorks Police wouldn't say anything other than it was a 'safety issue' when someone emailed them to ask why it was changed

They certainly are barstewards mate ..........

......... to away fans, it's a common theme when discussed amongst fans from lots of Championship clubs, it needs sorting.

My mate got thrown out for **** all, and locked up for supposedly abusing the chief steward. He's been up to Sunderland court 3 times at great expense plus loss of earnings, total losses, about £1000 and was banned from a number of games home and away, then last week all charges against him were dropped.

    Compensation? No chance!

    :D those were the days,

the atmosphere is slowly coming back to the SOL this season but no where near what it used to be like at Roker Park
