was suprised by his inclusion last night but run his socks off, won most headers and hardly gave the ball away. Looks like he has lost some timber aswell. Hope he keeps it up cos hes a handful when hes in the mood Shotton looks like a good signing, natural defender. You Reds!
Must admit he was like a different player last night, ive berated him for months but all credit to him he was outstanding last night. Still dont think he will ever score the goals a championship striker needs to but long may his form continue.
Amazing what a difference having to play for your shirt makes to players instead of just expecting to get picked every week no matter how poor you play the week previous.

At 32, I don't know where he found his energy last night, he was still sprinting in the last few minutes to close down their players and the ball! He's got a brilliant footballing brain, good vision and is excellent at holding up the ball. I agree with Shotton as well, thought he had an excellent game and probably deserved Man of the Match if Jonny hadn't rolled back the years. We played some really nice and quick on-the-deck passing football last night and you could see that change against Burnley as well. I think the difference in such a short space of time under Mark Robins is astonishing and the QPR game was perhaps a bizarre match more than a pasting. I'm definitely more hopeful for the remainder of the season after the last few games. Yoooooo Reds...
Well i'm not suprised He's always had it in him imho, he just needed the right players around him, we seem to have cracked it combining Macken, Hume and Hammill.

Now that's what i like to see - a player's biggest critic giving praise where it is due (Y)

RE: Well i'm not suprised I agree he's always had it in him, but its nothing to with the players around him. Its down to effort and having to fight for his place he's been in the comfort zone far too long.
