My money if i was a gambling man which i'm not "cough" would be on the Colts over the Bears.

    1. Colts are use to the warm weather unlike cold Chicago. So the Miami conditions will suit the Colts much better.

    2. Bears won against Saints so convincingly that they could very well get complacent come tonight.

    3. Colts had a close match against their Voodoo team in Patriots. They finally undid the hold over them, and did very well to come from behind.

    4. Peyton Manning will never be more up for a game. He isn't likely to want to ruin his best ever chance of FINALLY winning the Superbowl.

    1. It's February
    2. It's the Superbowl. No-ones gonna be complacent
    3. True, but the patriots aren't as good as they were.
    4. You're right, he isn't likely to want to ruin it, doesn't mean he won't. His post-season record doesn't suggest he's likely to step up in the bigger games.

I reckon da bears defense will do the job.

Peyton Manning? the Jimmy White of NFL?

he been to a lot of finals without winning or something? Just wondering what this guy's history is

sorry but I've only ever watched one American football game in my life, to be honest found it a little boring because of the way the game is constantly broken up and played in those ten yard stages, but I won't judge the sport on one game and may well tune in tonight and see what all the fuss is about.

RE: Peyton Manning? the Jimmy White of NFL?

This is the first time he's been to a superbowl, has a history of 'choking' in the games leading up to it. Most of the time it's not really been down to him that they've lost, but there's a lot of expectation on him because he's from a famous football family and has broken all sorts of records in regular season games. Basically one of the best quarterbacks never to have won a superbowl.

RE: Peyton Manning? the Jimmy White of NFL?

This is his first Superbowl. Basically most people rate Peyton Manning and Tom Brady as the best two quarterbacks in the business. However Colts always have to meet Patriots in the play offs. Pats have won the Superbowl many times in recent years as they always have the Colts number in the play offs and then go on to win the Superbowl. This year however Colts FINALLY broke the losing streak and Manning as the chance to win a Superbowl. If he never ends up winning one it would be like Jimmy White and the world championship. He is just too good to never win one. The best quarterback in the sport needs a Superbowl ring to his name. The reason i pick Manning over Brady as the best in the business, is because although Brady as won a few Superbowl (cannot this year lol), i think Manning carries his team more, as it is slightly weaker than New England.

    The problem with American Football

Is that they play it at such a stupid time. If they played the games during the day like we do over here then I'm sure they'd get a bigger following in Europe. Dumb Yanks.

    baseball's not much better

just a bunch of grown men playing rounders as far as I can see, and they're not even doing it right, we were never allowed to throw the ball that hard in primary school :pff

basketball is mildly entertaining, and actually hockey is quite good (although that's really Canadian), especially when there's a fight.

"Colts are use to the warm weather unlike cold Chicago."

Care to explain that one to me? Do you know where Indianapolis is?

Here is the weather forecast for today in Indianapolis....forecast for -11!
    http://www.weather.com/outlook/events/sports/local/USIN0305

The Colts play in a dome, so they are used to artificial turf and no wind that can affect the ball, unlike the stadium in Miami which is outdoors on grass. So can be argued that the Bears are more suited to it.

NFL is infact very popular worldwide. 800 million people usually watch it across the world. Plus don't forget about NFL Europe.

    To be honest

I don't think the Superbowl is necessarily the best game to tune in and "see what the fuss is about" - too many have ended in blow outs as one team freezes. The last few years have been better but it often disappoints - I think the earlier games in the playoffs are better to watch.

Could be another John Elway though

Lost in 3 Superbowls and it was looking like one of the sports greatest QB's would end up without the greatest prize and then at the end of his career he won 2 successive titles.
