Anyone collecting someone from one of the coaches that went from Oakwell could have quite a wait.... just been rung by my daughter to say that they weren't given a police escort away from the ground and a lousy bunch of preston "fans" have put the windows through. At the minute they are in a field waiting for the police to attend but have been told that there are 5 emergencies in front of them. The coach has quite a few disabled supporters plus youngsters. It makes my blood boil the way we treat visiting supporters but our fans are left to fend for themselves!

That's bad news indeed! What sort of gutless twits attack supporter's coaches. It seems to becoming a slight trend of late these attacks on coaches. I heard a similar story regarding Reading v Middlesbrough

No, Emma says that one has gone into Blackpool to see the illuminations. The team coach pulled up but said they couldn't take the disabled supporters because they weren't allowed to take fans on the bus with the players! The police have turned up after 35 minutes and say that because the game wasn't a category A game they didn't feel the need to supply an escort. Preston Club say that they won't pay or help with a replacement coach as there is no proof that they were Preston, fans they could have been just everyday thugs!

    Ok

I suspect they may well not have been PNE fans - but you would think it would just be a good will gesture for the club to help out....I'd like to think we'd do the same in the circumstance.

    Just to update re fans....

No-one was hurt-just very shuck-up. Daughter eventually arrived home at 1.45 am... said that same gang of lads bricked the coach again as it set off but this time there was a police van behind them (the police had said that they couldn't travel in front of them for whatever made up reason)... anyway this van full of police gave chase etc. etc. Still doesn't settle very easy with me to think that my 17 year old, who had gone with the official Oakwell coach party, was stuck in a field on the outskirts of Preston, late at night with a gang of iron bar/knife wielding thugs yelling at her, surrounded by glass from the coach windows and the police arriving some half an hour later because they ranked it 5th in line of their emergencies!

The atmosphere on the club coaches is poor, I go with the Maceys trips and I think the outcome would have been a lot different if it happened to them.

Happened to us last season, Hudders away

Hudders fan chucks a brick straight through the window. All of us get out to try and get the little lovely person, coppers let the twit run away and just start filming us. Never understood West Yorkshire police.

    Aye

hooligans dont lob bricks at coaches full of "normal fans" and run away, little chavs do. If it was hooligans theyed lob a brick at a coach full of like minded hooligans, lure them out and have a ruck, not run away.
Thats why it happens at places like Blackpool, Port Vale and Huddersfield, full of chavs who will do summat when theres glass between he and thee, but run away when confronted. Cowardness if you ask me.
