What sort of mentality would cause anyone born and bred in a certain town to support a club from elsewhere?

Ok, I can (sort of) understand the Man Utd's etc, the kids get interested in the glamour and fail to snap out of it as they grow up but what kind of Barnsley bloke would support a Sheffield club for instance? Have they got something missing that the rest of us take for granted? What kind of parents do they make anddo their opinions on anything else carry any weight at all?

Flip side - how many supporters were actually born in Barnsley ?

I was born in Barnsley (Hospital) but have never actually lived in the "TARN". My eldest son was born in NE and has always lived in North East but is an avid Barnsley fan like me but my youngest son is a just as avid Newcastle supporter because he believes in supporting his local team! Which one is right Windy?

    Born in Grimethorpe.

Birth certificate lists Hemsworth as, at the time, that was where the birth was registered for Grimethorpe area.

I don't now live in the finest town in Europe, however, should I get someone pregnant, the offspring will be indoctrinated with all things Barnsley from the moment they are born.

    You are in the wrong....

    a failed parent.

It is your ultimate responsibility to ensure ALL offspring are indoctrinated to BFC :D

I've to get my young un started yet but I could see the trouble I might have if I lived outside gods own country.
