    He's a fan NOT a football man.
We need a new manager, we've needed a new manager for 18 months, but the fan wouldn't sack Davey, as he'd given him the greatest day of his life - Wembley.
He backed Davey over the summer to the tune of almost a million pounds, and then sacks him when the other fans want him gone. Why back him with so much money and then sack him? He should have gone in May.
I'm not suggesting Cryne leaves or steps down - far from it, as we would be in even more dire trouble, but he needs to bring in a proper football man as Chief Exec as well as a new manger - a young successful lower league manager NOT a faded resigned/fired Premiership cast-off.
Be brave Patrick go for Mark Robbins and bring in someone who knows football before we really do go into a tailspin.

Why do you think he brought Ridsdale in with him at the beginning?

Once bitten situation there I'm afraid.

we've had years of "young, going places managers" and where has it got us, where are all those "on the up" managers now?
    We need experience.

When have we had a Football man (whatever that is)

Joe Richards, was a coal merchant, Ernest & John Dennis were fruit and veg. men etc etc. Do you think we need someone like Niall Quinn at the helm?

He wanted to lose our reputation of sacking managers every year

Cryne said previously that we had gained a reputation for sacking managers far too frequently and therefore had become undesirable for other managers as they thought they wouldnt get anytime in the job. He has done his best to stick to that, with funding and against opposition until it became impossible.

I think you are a little off with this 'fan' business. That F.A. Cup run was exceptional for every Barnsley fan, but most of them would have sacked him by now.

    Experience required

Young inexperienced managers from the lower leagues will lack the sort of authority needed to get the best out of our under-performing senior players. We also need someone with the contacts to attract the right calibre of players, and pull a few favours in the loan market.

We need a chairman seems as Gordon Shepherd still hasn't been replaced. We could do with a few rich men as directors. I'd still have Cryne around though in some capacity.

That's very even-handed of you. I'm sure he'll appreciate it.

Well that's charitable of you seeing that it's his money that keeps the club afloat!

But he's openly said he would get out if someone else came in with the money. But when the day comes he sells the club he should have a role for life with us as honoury life president or something.

Ridsdale is now at Cardiff and look where they are .....

He's not everyone's cup of tea, but he can attract money and top players - personally I'd rather have him than Patrick.

    Don't really agree

Yes we could do with a chairman, but how many chairmen are football men as you put it? They're nearly always businessmen.
