Promotion to the Championship</p> Increased Season Ticket Sales</p> Much bigger crowds next season</p> I know these have to be offset with the "increased running costs of being in the Championship" as Gordon Shepherd said, but surely, surely, now that we are in the Championship, there must be a teeny weeny little bit more money in Barnsley Fc's "Pot"</p> Surely.....</p>
course there is..remember we had 150k available for windass that hasn't disappeared , plus increased revenues. in my opinion , Gordon Shepherd is a very astute businessman and very astute businessmen don't go around claiming they've got a load of cash when they are negotiating. a la peter ridsdale.
there is.......................... no money apart from what Mr Cryne doles out-so far he has given an interest free indefinite loan of I think from memory about £5 m just to keep us afloat</p> our running costs exceeded our income last year-ie we ran at a loss</p> the situation should improve slightly next year IF we don't succumb to silly wage demands</p> Mr Shepherd knows this and quite reasonably says there is no money available-unless as I said above we get some more given us by Mr Cryne</p>
Not sure we ran at a loss last season With the money made from the play-offs Shepherd said we may have broken even.
RE: Not sure we ran at a loss last season I think that was on the years budget. Still carrying the losses though.
RE: Not sure we ran at a loss last season no prudent board would factor in winning the playoffs every year!-we ran at a loss over the league and cup season-the playoff receipts-which were not as great as Mr Shepherd originally thought covered a significant part of the losses-we still operated at a loss
