You'd think so but I fear many people will agree with them.

    My favourite comment was
"Who needs Human Rights anyway? Bloody humans. With their clothes and their opposable thumbs..."

Completely agree. This act was a good fit in the 1950's but is now ooutdated and needs a complete re-write to reflect todays reality and modern society. If everybody played by the rules, then this wouldn't be even up for discussion but that is not the case.

    I loved the Tweet:

    Tomorrow's Daily Express:
"Human Rights cause cancer says Diana's ghost".

Not suprising the article was from the Torygraph... but just recent history shows how the government are smashing the poor the disabled and the working people in poverty , to feather their own rich mates nests.. we the people surely must have some one to stand up against the dictatorship that we are suffering at the moment...

It will have the opposite affect in my opinion. The human rights act is completely unworkable as it stands and is in serious need of a major overhaul. A bill of rights is far more appropriate.

So the conservatives are going to abolish a law that has been abused for years and some think it makes them unelectable strange

I can't stand the tories but this is the wrong issue to beat them with. They propose scrapping the human rights act, not human rights. It's something that's dictated to us by Europe. Our own bill of rights might just offer appropriate rights without all the nonsense that goes with the current legislation.

    2 things....

1/ why the constant political threads, it's next May when anything counts so anything said now is speculative

2/ not all rich or affluent people are that way because they vote for or support Tory policies. I think someone else stated that some people are born into it and some get lucky on the lottery but there is a huge amount that have worked hard to get to that position whether that's in a private sector company of through building up their own businesses. They would have probably all been better off under Labour as would I because labour have no concept on how to control spending

3/ human rights, to my basic knowledge is a law that is dedtroying society e.g. Murderers in prison who get to challenge the system because they've bedn locked in a room for xx hours per day. WTF

    UTR and no more politics
