    Would he inspire you?

    Theo Walcott. Sensational decision.

To be fair, not much would inspire me to work harder.......

Problem isn't taking Walcott, it's having Jenas there instead of Defoe/Bent. We sit back and invite pressure in the second half and bascially we can't cope. brazil in 2002, Portugal and France in 2004, even Paraguay and last night. The bloke is shocking. If we do win the World Cup it'll be despite him not because of him.

We've got the players. Lampard, Rooney, Terry and Gerrard would get into most teams. Joe Cole is getting better. We can't keep playing Beckham in the hope he produces 1 decent cross a game.

    i wouldn't bet against it

we're not going to walk it but if we get a bit of luck along the way then there's every chance. we weren't exactly world beaters in italia 90 when we got within a whisker of the final.

we should beat equador and then we're only 2 games away from the final. anything can happen.

Don't want to sound harsh, but

I think you're deluded. Properly barmy. Off your little head. :)

Just because I don't think we can win it doesn't mean I don't want us to.

    absolutely, i realise that.

you don't have to be play to your maximum every match of the world cup to win it. after equador it going to be two one off games against sides who we can match judging on brazil and portugals performances so far. anything can happen, bit of luck, refereeing decision, penalties etc.

we've not been class so far, but on the otherhand we've not been poor and we know that we can beat any team in the world.

    i remain optimistic!

    RE: Hope you're right

Yesterdays first half was very encouraging and I was well pleased with it. I personally think that they found out how serious Owen's injury was at half time and it affected some of them, they didn't appear to play with the confidence they'd started with.

Just a theory though. Although I'm always right at everything ever.

    Agree 100%

From an objective point of view you would say that we have won the group, with relative ease. We've not performed well so there should be more to come. Our second
round performances tend to be our best (certainly under Sven)

Am I right in saying Sven has only lost 3 competitive games? Brazil (who went on to win the World Cup) Portugal (who should have won the Euros) and a freak result against Northern Ireland.

    If that's right...why shouldn't we win it?
