    It took us longer in terms of development and increase in value. We take a risk everytime we sign someone as our finances are tight. Top clubs just throw money about between themselves and we are left grasping for what we can get (I include all the clubs in that who are not run as playthings for billionaires).

    every transfers a risk.
    Barnsley will get a lot bigger % increase on him than Swansea will at times

    And there's a player who was thinking of calling it a day before Barnsley stepped in and signed him.
    In years to come when some of the players who have moved on this season are asked who has had a big influence on their career I would not be surprised to hear the name Paul Heckingbottom being mentioned.

    Speculation is mounting that Spurs are getting very close to signing Alfie from Swansea.
    The Swans have valued him at £20'million because they claim circa £4 million of that would have to
    be paid to Barnsley FC.!
