Am I right in remembering us winning a penalty shoot out at the Millenium Stadium to go into the Championship. Thus leaving Swansea behind us in League 1? What happened there then?? They played well in Europe this evening. Our only chance of European games is preseason
was saying the same thing to my brother earlier, they seem to have over taken us very quickly. The effect of a new stadium seemed to give them a massive boost, wondered if the same could happen with us? Thing is the Vetch was a complete dive, Oakwell isn't really that bad so not sure a new stadium would drum up the same kind of enthusiasm.
Key elements: Investment, ambition, vision, the right manager and luck. Have we got all of these? I think we have some but not all.
A board with a vision and the nouse and interest to see it through. We've been treading water since coming back up
Re: They didn't sack Andy Ritchie and replace with Simon Davey I think (hope) we have the right manager now and things have certainly improved in the club structure. Giving Davey the job was a major setback IMO, just like giving Hendrie the job a few years earlier.
Swansea CITY, the clue is in the name they have only Cardiff as rivals really. Swansea is a huge city and surrounded by very big towns. Neath, Llanelli, Port Talbot, Carmarthen etc... their catchment/ fan base is way way bigger than ours.Plus they have a set of decently rich investors too. Also they built a realistic sized ground , just 20k , more atmosphere.
