Only just watched the match as I was working yesterday but for the first goal their player was stood on the pitch when he threw the ball. Linesman should of been looking
First goal should have been disallowed for a obstruction on solbauer although to be honest he was levered out if the way a bit too easily for a center half. Second goal was offside but if the chuckle brothers hadnt had a meltdown the fact he was offside wouldn't have been an issue.
I think sollbauer was guilty of being too interested in the player, while the ball was heading his way. No way he should’ve allowed himself to be moved out of the way like that. And when he was, he should’ve gone to ground.
Solbauer was marking the goalscorer and a smaller player runs in with Chaplin and stands in front of Solbauer who then takes the smaller player away from goal as the throw is coming in leaving the man he should be marking free to score, Chaplin stood watching One they had worked on in training.
Let’s not get all “ the ball wasn’t in quadrant” regarding the first goal. We should be more in the “ he shouldn’t have been allowed to head the ball in the first place “ mode
I think that's how it was intended to look but basically Corey Smith I think it was pushed back into Solbauer and Solbauer wasn't strong enough in response leaving the goal scorer free. I think our center halves and goal keeper need to be more assertive in our penalty areas at set pieces they get bullied and moved about to easily.
If the defender is focussed on attacking the ball, then gets knocked off path by an attacker, he wins a free kick. He got involved in a tussle that he didn’t need to.
I agree he got involved with the other guy and pushed him away leaving his man to score. The other angle shown last night showed him manhandling their player. It worked nicely for Swansea.
The 1st goal could have been prevented with a man on the line. The 2nd goal could have been prevented if the linesman had done is job or chuckle brothers talked to each other.
