Despite often being criticised for being quiet, the Barnsley fans stunned Swansea with the noise yesterday. You would never have believed they had 10k more fans there than we had.
Ritchie had said in an interview with Radio Dee Dar, that vocal support from the crowd plays a significant part in how they perform. Yesterday we delivered 100% on that score - The Taffs were bemused, outsung, and out-displayed too. We also got a bit arrogant towards the end, all standing up for going up, knowing at any minute it could explode in our faces.
Ritchie played excellent tactics. As the lads were dying on their feet Swansea unleashed their secret weapon (Trundle) on fresh legs. They hoped for the killer punch, but as we held out desperately for our well practised penalties we stole the bloody show.
What makes it all the more satisfying is that we were the unfancied and unrated playoff contenders from the very start. As the media darlings Brentford and Huddersfield crashed out, all attention switched to Swansea as the hype took over.
Instead of going under to all that, we kept our heads down, practised decent penalties, and took the frigging lot of 'em from behind.
Well done Andy and the lads. In recent history terms, this is Barnsley's second best day ever.
The boys done well.

i think everyone was singing i sit in the east stand and we not best known for making a noise but we all joined in yesterday
It was the noise in extra time and when they went to take the pens that got us over the finish line. That awfiwaffytaffykewnia getting ready to take his pen with 22000 people shouting and screaming 'YORKSHIRE' at the top of the voice would have been very intimidating.
aye but the whistles from their fans were deafening it was only then that you realised how many more of them than us there were, the number of flags being waved on sticks, 10 or 20 to 1 in our favour, i think our fans were more up for it than theirs
RE: aye but the whistles from their fans were deafening We drowned them out. He bottled it. marvelous. Is it time for more beer yet?
RE: aye but the whistles from their fans were deafening Are you really sure? Maybe it sounded loud where you were but don't forget its a big old stadium and you were no louder down the swansea end than carlisle were the other month. Unless you had a decibel metre with you and have hard facts I'd say the atmosphere was good but not great from both sides of the ground. Good luck in the championship next season I think all the teams who've gone up will need it. I hope you all enjoyed your day yesterday shame it rained all day.
RE: aye but the whistles from their fans were deafening Did it rain, hadn't noticed !!
I also think you are right about the noise, when you are amongst your own fans you don't hear the opposition. However I was sat on the side and our end seemed more animated, not that matters.
Thought Rory did well, but wasn't impressed by Trundle apart from when he should have scored.
The Championship is full of big clubs, fortunately some of them have big debts !!!
Good luck next season.

It was so loud that I couldn't hear myself singing.
When I got home last night and was was laid in bed, my ears were ringing like I'd had my head in a bass bin all night at a motorhead gig.

I couldn't hear you And I saw one of your fans actually say we were louder. Instead of being a bit stupid you should realise that when surrounded by thousands of your own fans you are unlikely to hear the other fans no matter how loud they are. Congratulations on going up, although don't expect to stay there that long.
We'll stay up... There might be plenty of big teams in there but there's plenty of average dross in there too... We've beaten teams like Wolves, Norwich, Birmingham and West Brom plenty in the past and can do so again. Bad luck for next season by the way.
RE: We'll stay up... One of your own fans was excited about the thought of getting 12,000 at home next season and you only just got promoted through a playoff final penalty shootout. I can't say you're strong candidates to stay up really, let's be honest.
Once the newness wears off.. ..and your flatpack stadium starts to rust(If you still have it by then)your team will be back down to 3k gates and you will always be in the shadow of your huge neighbours Cardiff.
Don't be bitter mate, its ugly.

Wanna bet? We'll be reight, we have a bloke with some coin who I'm sure wouldn't let us drop into this alehouse league again.
