Was "told" by a big Man Utd fan last night that we are after a part swap with RNL going to them and Danny Welbeck heading our way. Good or bad?
Fantastic if true Cant see it myself though. Welbeck is on the verge of their first team. Was a permanent deal or loan mentioned?
Can someone explain....
...how releasing RNL fits in with our supposed desire to field home-grown talent?

Survival? RNL may be the answer in a few years time, but we need to look to consolidate a mid-table finish next season. If the rumour is true, Welbeck would be more beneficial for next season.
If manure where taking RNL it would be done by now they would not have sent him back to play for our academy against huddersfield
RE: Survival? Looks like financial folly to me. He could be a first team regular in 18 months, what would he be worth then? I'd say anyone with an eye for a deal would consider putting his hand in his pocket.
man utd dont need to swap anyone - especially welbeck who is getting 1st team games RNL will go to them for 2-4m compo i bet.
What a crap deal for BFC. Wellbeck is only worth in the region of £5m, has top flight experience and has been developed by the best club in the world. RNL has had 5 minutes of football - but hey Man Utd know a good deal when they see one. It beggers belief the ***** people post sometime because they over heard someone's dog bark down the local.
Nope - and he doesnt have a Pro contract anyone that thinks we'd get 7 figures for him in the short term with a move this summer is seriously deluded.
so he doesn't have a pro contract so in a few months time can just walk over the hills any way to old trafford?
No - its not as easy as that. As I believe it to be: BFC hold his youth contract rights. RNL can not just up and leave. The value assigned to each youth is £3k per annum for their development. He's been with us for 4 years, so the value we've spent on him is £12k. Im sure its more with the better prospects, but BFC can not prove that. Heres where it gets out of the black and white. Man Utd could not just sign him and he ups and leaves. We have to agree a fee or both parties have to agree to tribunal. The worst case is that BFC still own his rights for another 12 months and can stop him from stepping foot anywhere near Old Trafford. Fees for youths are always 100% based on the success of the career. Games played, international caps, cups won etc..... The Walcott transfer was reportedly worth £10m, but Saints went back and negotiated a settlement figure of £5m two years later. So, that gives an indication of how little they got upfront for someone of his ability, which RNL is nowhere near to proviing he has yet.
