Swimming in Barnsley?

Can anyone provide advice on places to swim in Barnsley? (preferably of the organised, pool-based variety before I get some flood-related responses!)

I would very much appreciate the qualities of quietness, cleanliness and a lack of screaming brats if such a place exists.

don't think any quiet places exist in barnsley, but here goes: how about the following:

Metrodome
Hoyland Leisure Centre
wombwell Baths........... bugger, cant think of any more.

 

My ex used to book a private one for her and her little brother. Buggered if I can remember the name of it but get the phone book out.

 

there's a small one at Broomhill that does private bookings

can't remember what it's called either though, so lots of help from me

I'll look for a place that may or may not be in Broomhill and may or may not take private bookings!

To be fair I'm looking for a swim tonight so public is probably the best way forward - it actually hadn't occurred to me that you could book private pools. Might have to brave the metrodome.

Anyone know if its school holidays at the moment?
