Swindon Town refund fans after poor display

    Following Swindon Town's shock loss to non-league Macclesfield in the FA Cup first round on Saturday, the club's players and coaching staff have agreed to personally refund their travelling supporters.

    With Swindon seventh in League One, there are 55 places between the two teams but that didn't prevent the Conference Premier side from eliminating the Robins from the FA Cup for the second consecutive year with a storming 4-0 victory


    Robins manager Mark Cooper told the Swindon Advertiser that he will seek recompense for the 305 supporters who travelled to Moss Road - with the squad and coaches set to refund the cost of match tickets from their own pockets.

    That's what I was thinking. If everytime we put in a poor display we got a refund, it will be an heck of a lot cheaper to watch us play.

    I've calculated that with added interest Barnsley owe me 2.5 million pounds just for having to watch Willie Ferry. Chuff knows how much it'll be when I take into account the Dave Regis coefficient.
