Is it possible? Here's my example. I have a folder within drive C: for all my music, mp3 files. A copy of that file is located on my external hard drive - just in case I happen to lose all the data on my pc. I want to be able to add/remove music from one of them, and for it to be mirrored in the other file. Is it at all possible? Or will I have to manually do identical processes to each file individually?

    Cheers.

    SyncBack is what I use

    http://www.download.com/SyncBack/3000-2242_4-10548273.html

I use it to sync my documents folder and a media folder on another internal hard drive. No problems whatsoever and its free.

You can set it up to to do daily/weekly syncs or backups and theres a load of other options most of which you probably wont need.

As a result, when my comp packed up a few months back and I needed to re-install Windows, I didnt lose anything important.
