In market for a tablet, nothing too fancy. Just something i can download apps on, do some word processing, simple website building, general browsing and watching youtube videos. Oh, and browsing on ere! Looking to spend £40 - £80 hopefully for something 9inch or bigger. Anybody recently purchased one could give me a recommendation on whats decent? I know its not going to be a top of the line one. I've seen a few £40+ android models, brands like allwinner, not sure if there utter rhubarb. Cheers lads
Hudl will stretch you a bit more than your budget - but it's supposed to be great for the money. I've had a Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 - cost me a couple of hundred but it's quite unreliable and the main problem is that it doesn't take charge consistently and the battery life is poor.
If you can stretch to 99 quid then hudl 2 from Tesco everyday, the downside to a lot of the cheap ones tends to be the screen being a very poor quality. The Hudl is also stock Android so should be good for any future updates
Bit bigger than a phone. Most phones are quite big at 5 inch (ish) screens. Hudle is 8.3. http://www.tesco.com/direct/hudl/
Contemplating this: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/10-1-Inch...909?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item418ca945b5 Hudl seems a little on the small side
Its 8.3 inch. Physically its a bit longer than a sky remote, about 1cm longer. Its about 1cm shorter and 1 inch narrower than a Barnsley programme so quite a bit bigger than a mobile
Most cheap ones I have experience of are poor for specific apps being not supported by that particular tablet. So beware.
I've got a Hudl 2. For the money it's brilliant, it really is. Although the tablet you've linked to has a bigger screen, it has far fewer pixels. That has 1024x600, while the Hudl 2 has 1920x1200. So you can actually fit more on the Hudl screen and the image quality is far superior.
For word processing and website building i would say that an android tablet will be very difficult to use. I would suggest a Windows 8 2 in 1 - I have a Surface Pro 3, which I know is well over your budget (mine cost me £1500), but I believe all windows devices will allow you to install things like Microsoft Word. The 2 in 1's are basically a laptop that you can remove the screen on and use as a tablet.
I have a Hudl and its fabulous the memory and processor are huge when you comsider the cost... also if you have any Tesco cash vouchers gained by a Tesco club card you can use them against the purchase to lower the price even further..As I say the specs on it almost rival that of tablets twice the price. Also lots of extras are available and are not expensive, covers, headphones, car chargers etc.
Re: I have a Hudl and its fabulous I bought an Allwinner a couple of years ago for about £45, and it was trash unfortunately. Sent it back a week later. My sister's got a Hudl 1 and it seems good - tempted to pick up a Hudl 2
in what ways is hudl 2 better than the first I have the first version, looking at the hardware specs I cannot see that much of a difference TBH
